ElektroG3 changes as of January 1, 2023

Flexibility is the focus of the new ElektroG3, which came into force at the beginning of 2022. It is based on a national law initiative, which allows an addition of further changes on EU level, so necessary. The FBDi Verband reminds of some transitional arrangements that will apply from January 1, 2023.

EU battery regulation on the finish line

With a large majority, the EU Parliament adopted the Council position on the new EU Battery Regulation, which is to replace the previous EU Battery Directive of 2006. The regulation is intended to ensure a more sustainable use of batteries throughout the EU and for the first time focuses on the entire life cycle of batteries.

New battery regulation BattVO still in approval

The new Battery Regulation (BattVO) planned for 1.1.2022, which will apply directly to all EU member states, is still in the voting process, will probably finalizedin the first half of 2022. Until then the BattG2 Act on the placing on the market, return and environment-friendly disposal of batteries and accumulators (Battery Act 2), which came into force on 1.1.2021, still remains valid.
